That can be annoying! A useful tip is the use of some petroleum jelly. The creaking can be caused by different (external) circumstances, but you can often get rid of it simply by using a little petroleum jelly. Just lubricate the iron part of the hinge with a little petroleum jelly and use a small brush to ensure it is clean.
